Friday Mixtuals - Christophe & Soundstream

Happy Friday! The weekend is upon us and what better way to get you through to the end of the afternoon as well as put your head in the party mood than a couple of hot damn mixes free for your music pods.

Christophe - Futureboogie  Mix

First up is this absolute gem of a mix put together by Bristol based DJ and graphic designer Christophe.

A firm member of the Futureboogie family for whom Christophe also designs. We found this mix over on the Futureboogie website as part of their regular online mix releases. Definitely worth tripping over to the site if you get a chance as there's a load more mixes (just noticed a fresh one from Leftside Wobble as it happens) up for download as well as Futureboogie artist and release info.

I've had this one on repeat for the last week, a superb selection of subtle piano house and disco strings. Not been able to find a track listing yet but we think you'll recognize a few jams as well as spend a good number of hours pulling your hair out trying to identify the others.

Anyway, get over to the Futureboogie site here for the download link.

Soundstream - Recorded @ Das Ist, Bristol

Ok, we've banged on about this Saturday's Tief enough this week but with a line up like that in London's favorite venue (well ours at least) it's worth the hype. This little treat of a mix from Soundstream who will gracing the steel wheels this Saturday was recorded just over a year ago at Bristol's Das Ist. It's a two hour flurry into house and disco packed with Soundstream originals and unreleased edits and picks up the pace at points with some classic Frenchy filter house sounds. The recording is a touch grainy at times but it comes straight from the club floor so we can’t complain. Catch Soundstream tomorrow night at Tief alongside Pepe Bradock and much more. Ticket and other info for tomorrow night’s Tief can be found here.

Bella Taylor - May mix

This one came through as a recommendation from one of our buddies this morning so we thought we'd get it up here this afternoon to get you through the rest of the eve.

It's always good to hear of someone doing things right and it seems this is mix tape a an example of just that. A nice little selection of some classic tunes from over the past year or so perfectly spliced and crafted by Bella Taylor.

This is the first we've heard from Bella and hopefully we'll be seeing the name a little more if the future.

Anyway, crack it on on the Mixcloud player below and let us know your thoughts.

Tief at Corsica Studios this Saturday

Back from Barcelona and still alive.....Just.

Off Sonar treated us very well this year and massive shouts need to be thrown out there for both Innervisions and Wolf & Lamb. Two of the best open air parties i have ever been too. Perfect settings and music too match. Sonar moment goes to Todd Terje for dropping "Love is in the air". What a day.

Also shouts going out to the Big Chill Bar, Brick Lane who had us down for our first "Presents" party on Friday night. Guesting for the first hour, Michael Mara took it in perfectly before we stepped up for our first 3 hours set in a long while. A lot of fun was had and love to all the people who came down.Hold tight for the date of round 2 coming soon.

Tief -

It's time to get deep in a German accent again. Tief returns to the mighty Corsica Studios this Saturday for what must be one of its most tidy line ups yet.

We're very excited about this one so will be rolling down for a night of shandy's and streamers. Here's a run down of why you need to get on that ticket and head down Elephant and Castle this weekend.

French house legend Pépé Bradock heads the set sheet this time round for what is looking to be a very exciting night. Known for crafting deep but experimental tracks without loosing the dance floor edge Bradock is considered as one of the most consistent and respected producers of his time.

Also on the musical listings for this one is Germany's Soundstream. Every time you see the Soundstream logo on the centre of one of those 12" waxy things make sure you pick it up. This man knows how to lay down a groove using nowt but his drum machine, cheeky string samples and a lick of pooter wizardry. We're massive fans and from one play of the below you probably will be soon also.

We actually posted this one last week but here it is again for those that missed out. Tief pod cast 006 comes from number three on this weekends billing -Manuel Tur.
Have a listen on the Soundcloud player below for a slice of his mix tape fried gold.

Also on the bill this Saturday (sorry, I've ran out of time so can't spoil you with anymore links) -

Erdbeerschnitzel (live)
Leisureware

And of course Residents -

Hesseltime
Mr Solid Gold
Thick As Thieves

Get on the presales here to save a few quid and the miss out the dreaded last minute panic and we'll hopefully see you there for some shape tossing.

Thought we'd get this one up on here today as it coincides with the release of Mr Edit Murphy's latest workings. "Need You" is now out on Smoke N' Mirrors and also features a quality re working from Pillow Talk.

Tuesday Mixtual - Disclosure - "Fact Mix 327"

Like promised, we're going to try our damned hardest to get a mix up here for you every day this week. Well until Thursday at least as we will be on our way to Barcelona Thursday afternoon and not in any state to make any post worth checking out.

Today we're going to crack up this amazing mix from Disclosure put together for the Fact mix series a couple of months back. The Disclosure boys have been busting it out recently with their Jessie Ware remix getting huge attention, a superb live mix stream via Mix Mag and of course the Fact mix itself cementing them as one of the ones to watch out for this Summer.

The mix is packed with loads of our favourite current jams including a big old dollop of original Disclosure material. Definitely a mix to pull you out of that Tuesday drag.

Friday Mixtuals - Manuel Tur "Tief 006" & Crazy P "Mountains Mix"

Friday already. This week and all of it's 3 working days has flown by so here's some fresh mix tape fodder to get you in the mood for the weekend.

Manuel Tur - "Tief 006"

Stepping up for the 6th episode in the Tief night mix series is German producer Manuel Tur. The man him self will also be gracing the DJ box at the next Tief party taking place on the 30th June at Corsica studios. The release of his first Long Player "Swans Reflecting Elephants" on Jimpsters Free Range label a few months back has shown us he can cover all basis when it comes to the more intelligent end of dance music with the album covering sound scape electronics through to his his more recognisable driving house and techno edged slices.

Check out his Tief lay down on the below Soundcloud player and also check here for more deets of Junes Tief party with guests including Pepe Bradock, Soundstream, Erdbeerschnitzel, Leisureware and of course Manuel Tur.

Crazy P - "Mountains Mix"

This amazing mix from the Crazy P crew was put together for Mix mag a few weeks back in preparation of their appearance at Bulgaria's Meadows in the Mountains festival. London collective Crazy P are most definitely one of my top summer sound trackers with their DJ and live sets splicing together the highest quality funk and soul soaked house.

Along with the mix being fresher than some freshly shelf plucked fabreeze i also thought we'd get this one up to alert you to the fact that the Crazy P Sound system will be swinging back to London for a full night of funk this Saturday. Joined by Mario Basanov, PBR Streetgang and Felix Dickinson amongst others the Crazy P family will be taking over a secret London warehouse space for their first London return since the sell out Koko gig back in March. Get on over to the RA page here for tickets and crack on the below mix for some funking good Friday sounds.

Mid Week Mixtuals

Jubilicious! It's only bloody June already it is. Huge shouts to the Play Fest crew for having us along to play the Pow tent on Sunday and a massive big ups to the guys at Bless from Saturday night as we thoroughly enjoyed our first set at Dalstons new venue Birthdays.

On to the mid week noise as it's only a short week and you probably need some mid week pick me ups.

Mr Solid Gold  goes to Paris Trouble Vision Mix
First up is this delightful little slow stepper and smooth house mix from Trouble Vision captain Mr Solid Gold.
The mix has been put together as promo for the upcoming Trouble Vision jolly to Paris taking place at Machine Du Moulin Rouge on the 22 June with guests including Jimmy Edgar, Paul Woolford, A Made Up Sound, Dark Sky and Mr Solid Gold himself. Check out the face book event here for full details and get the mix on the Soundcloud player below the flyer.

Justin Martin - Fabric Promo Mix
An absolute beauty hot off the Fabric press from Dirty Bird don Justin Martin here. We've always had a lot of love for Justin and his new album Ghettos and Gardens a great example of why. A serious selection of club ready house and bass as well as some ice fresh cuts such as the incredible "Don't go". A track that each of my house mates has had on solid repeat for about 2 weeks now. Get a listen to the below if you need to perk up your afternoon and we'll hopefully be back with more later in the week.
