Midweek Mixtuals: Ben Sun - Pelski Podcast + C90s - Spring Mix

Happy Wednesday people.

We've just arrived back from one hell of an amazing few days at Horizon Festival in Bulgaria. We'd like to give a shout out to all the Horizons crew, The Trouble Vision and Tief Family, Casino Times, Jackmaster, The Shapes crew, Flux Crew and any one else that joined in with the party. It was a lot of fun and our bodies are near broken. Good times!

Now swiftly on to our mid week mixtuals and a right couple of smooth as spring treats we have up for you today to try and encourage the spring weather to hurry up.

Ben Sun - Pelski Podcast 003

Coming in once again from our favorite blog and all round top quality site Pelski is the 3rd edition in their podcast series. 

This one mixed by DJ, Producer and Voyeuryhthm label boss Ben Sun. This fellas DJ sets and production drip with quality. Pelski says it better over on the sites main post with "a welcome counterpoint to the current deluge of naff deep house". We cannot agree more. C90s - Spring Mix tape.

Our second treat for today is this superb splicing coming from London duo The C90s. 

From knowing one half of the duo, Danny from well back in the day and being a fan of his stuff since then i always look forward to the latest mix offering coming from these guys. Amazing tune selection and perfectly laid down every time. Luca Lozano - Good Bait mix

Thursday Mixtual recommendation.

Coming in fresh and early today with this cracker of a mix from Klasse label co founder Luca Lozano. The British but now Berlin based producer brings this one in true Luca style, laying down a pumped out hour of the finest quality house and techno and mixed for the quality label/blog site Good Bait. Dark rolling and bass led through out, this one is well worth cracking on the sound system and experiencing in it's full beauty.

Daft Punk Influences mix - CK - 2011

Unless you've been asleep for the past month then you should have caught wind of the Daft Punk come back rumors and being one hell of a Daft Punk fan this is some of the best news i've heard for a wee while. Talk of Chic's Nile Rogers and disco/high energy god Giorgio Moroder on the colab tip also means that this could be one of the greatest things to hit our ear pods in a little while.

Thought we'd post this audio treat today in the form of CKs Daft Punk influence mix put together back in 2011 for Bodytonic blog to keep in with the hype. This version below is supposedly the extended version with an extra hour of tunage to the original post featuring 88 tracks that influenced Daft Punk's 1997 ground breaking Homework album.

This ones definitely worth listening to in full so free up two hours, crack on your headphones and get involved. This is one hell of a mix.

Bake - Boiler room mix (2011)

Short on time today so not many words for you but we thought we'd crack up this fantastic mix by Bake recorded live at the Hessle Audio Boiler Room session back in 2011. One hell of a live mix and the man's tune selection is right up my street. Been enjoying this one for a wee while now.

Alex Egan - NTS - Rhythm Connection Mix

Morning. Straight in nice and early today with this wonderful splicing from Alex Egan. We posted his Boiler room warm up set a few months back and as great as it was it was definitely too short (Boiler room time restraints likely to be the cause there). 

We thought we'd get this full length mix up today to give you an even better taste of what Mr Alex Egan is about. Amazingly thought out running list on this one that more than works. Something Alex is known and respected for. Originally mixed on NTS's Rhythm Connection show but rushed and cut short towards the end due to time restrictions so Alex has re-recorded the sequence for your listening pleasure.

One treat of a mix for you today. This one comes from a complete unknown to us, i've tried digging out some more info on the guy but haven't yet been too successful however i think it makes it even better with an element of mystery going on.

We became aware of this one when our man Park Ranger posted it on his Facebook page a few weeks back as part of his regular recommendations posts. Any way. The mix is by iph and contains some of the most funk and boogie ridden gems this side of funky town. Something a little different, straight up vinyl and well worth a listen.

Back in with the mixtuals - Park Ranger, Sleazy McQueen, Midland

Hi all. Sorry for the lack in posts recently. Once again the restraints and daily schedule of modern day life has prevented us getting the good stuff up here for you and for that we are very sorry.

Anyway. We're back!  And what better way to get things rolling again than with a shed load of mixes that have been floating our boat over the past few weeks.

So as we mentioned a few weeks back our favorite blogger and website are back! Pelski and his top notch web space have relaunched. And we are super happy about it. Midland - Recorded live @ Panorama Bar, Berlin.

Last up today is this powerful set from Midland recorded live from 5:30 am til 8:30am at Berlin party Sub:stance. 

In what i would expect from a quality Panorama Bar set this one has some go to it. If this doesn't leave you wanting to book your Berlin flights then nothing will. House, techno, bass and percussion laid out in the skillful way Midland has become known for. Our Man Mr Solid Gold was present for the evening of the party and has said Midland's set was definitely a highlight. Get it on the player below.
