Tief + Beat In Space

Happy Thursday yo!

Tief + Beat In Space = One hell of a slice of fried gold

One step closer to the weekend and more importantly for any one down in London town tomorrow, one step closer to what is looking to be one of the best parties of the year so far. Friday evening at our favourite London noise den Corsica Studios, Trouble Vision sister party Tief return with a line up that is enough to wow the most seasoned of house and disco lovers.

Tomorrow's proceedings will see Todd Terje, Prosumer, Iron Curtis, Linkwood, Casino times, Ejeca, Ben Sun..........(take a breath)............along side residents Hesseltime, Mr Solid Gold and Thick As Thieves. If that isn't a serious enough line up i don't know what is.

Also joining tomorrow nights line up as well as his weekly show being in association with the event on this occasion will be Beats In Space Radio host Tim Sweeney....... Which brings us nicely on to today's mix recommendations.

We've posted a few Beats In Space shows over the past few years and as a weekly radio show that brings interesting guests and different takes on the house and disco we crave, BIS really does hit the spot. We cannot recommend enough heading over to the BIS site here and subscribing to the show. Streamed live from New York city every Tuesday and then posted on the site for pod cast pleasure, recent shows have included guests such as Daniel Avery, HNNY, No Regular Play and a very funny session with DFA's Juan Maclean. There's not enough decent house and disco music shows around that bring the perfect mix of chat, music and dance eclecticism that BIS does and it really is a testament to Mr Sweeney.

We thought we'd post up Tim Sweeney's Boiler room video session recorded in London at the end of last year to get you in the mood and please make sure you head on over to the Beats In Space site and check it out ( if you are not already a regular obvs).

Pre sales for tomorrow nights Tief have now all gone but there will be limited numbers available on the door from 10pm. Trust us when we say you need to get there early to grab one and hopefully we'll see you on the dance floor.

Justice - The Lost Fabric mix

Happy Monday folks. We hope you all had safe weekends and will forgive us for opening up with the word folks.

Coming in to day with a bit of nostalgia. Maybe not as lost as we've stated in the title but this is definitely a mix that seems to have been relegated to the back of a lot of peoples memory.

The so called rejected Fabric mix from Parisian duo Justice was released by the guys themselves back in Christmas of 2007 after the the label/club supposedly told them it was a no go. Whether the rejection was due to licensing issues or simply the fact that Fabric were not expecting such a clever and well thought out expression of what a mix tape should be (this certainly didn't fit the public's idea of a Justice mix at the time) we will probably never no. Either way the mix made for an amazing listen when i heard it for the first time amongst the surrounding sound scape of noisy electro and over the top wobble house that was dominating the clubs of London at the time.

Now the current house hipsters and their deep V'age may snub their noses at anything with Justice in the name but if you have not heard this mix before you are in for a real treat. The selection ranges from some of the greatest disco cuts ever to obscure soundtrack sampling and fromage-esque French pop. And of course there is some guitars in there to keep things in perspective. It is definitely not what some people would expect from the charting Justice we all know and once loved but i think it shows you the talent and ear for DJing that made them the greats they became. I read recently that no one apart from the French actually listen to Justice any more. Well that's not completely true.

Get it on the Soundcloud player below ( A random upload but this one is hard to find these days) and  let us know your thoughts.

Tusk Wax + The 2 Bear & Cajmere

Wussup people. Happy Valentines to you all!

Sorry for the slack week. After one riotous Oonst party last Friday we decided to take a few days relaxation time. But alas we are back in today with some fresh ear smut for you.

Tusk Wax

First up these two unmissable mixes from one of my favorite labels Tusk Wax. I'd completely forgot about the first until a diner with Mr Solid Gold (the man merks jerk chicken) last week reminded me of what a superb mix it is. Straight from Tim Sweeney's Beats in Space show back in November of last year the mysterious Tusk Wax takes us though a mixtual that will leave you digging for a very long time.

The label itself is one of true quality with all releases on Tusk Wax and its sister labels Horn Wax and Porn Wax released on limited hand numbered vinyl only. Keep an eye out for anything released on the imprints as they drip with class. The second mix from Tusk Wax below is a more recent selection consisting of forthcoming releases on the label. Make sure you check out both in full.

The 2 Bears - Is This Cajmere?

This one has been put together by the very special 2 Bears - aka Raf Daddy and Joe Goddard in the run up to a night that is another pretty much unmissable event. On the 2nd of March at XOYO, London, 2 become 3 when the legendary Cajmere will be joining The 2 Bears for a night of jacking Chicago flavoured greatness and man size yet real house music.

We last saw Cajmere at Corsica studios back in December last year and what a show he brings. I don't think any man can look as fly as he does behind the desk and 20 years of experience as one of the worlds most forward thinking house pioneers means you are not going to be lacking in the tune shelf.

Get the mix on the player below and head on over to the RA page here for full party details.

Tender Hooks Launch + Mr Beatnick Dummy Mag mix

Yo!

We back and it's Friday already. We've spent most of this week recovering from last weeks double Trouble Vision and what a session it was. Shouts go out to all the TV regulars as it was truly one to remember.

Now we may sound a little bias towards Corsica Studios with it being the home of Trouble Vision and what not but we can not express how perfect a space it has become. Tonight sees them opening their doors to new in house party Tender Hooks which is looking to continue the excellent level of programming the venue has become known for.

Dutch based label Clone will be taking over room one for the majority of the evening. Presenting 3 of their most renowned artists Serge, Gerd and Legowelt the Clone crew will most certainly be laying down some of the finest Dutch house and techno out there.

Room two brings us to today's mix and more importantly UK label Don't be Afraid. Since its launch in 2009 Don't be Afraid have rapidly become one of the UK's most respected left field house labels and we are very excited to see what they bring to the Tender Hooks meat room later this evening.
The label will be taking control of room two for the entire evening with label boss Semtek as well as Marco Shuttle, Alis, James Broomfield and the very talented Mr Beatnick controlling the dials.

We thought we'd post this serious splicing by Mr Beatnick himself mixed towards the end of last year for Dummy mag. An excellent demonstration of why the man has gained so much respect both for his DJ sets and his regular NTS show. Get the mix on the below player and head on over to the original Dummy mag post here for the full interview.

Details for tonight's Tender Hooks can be found here and hopefully we'll see you down there for what is looking to be another excellent night of music and leg shaking. Fresh.
