Now I know we usually like to post the shiniest or flashest footwear a DJ may own and treasure but that loyal pair of kicks that keeps your feet comfortable yet looking pimp even in the muddiest of rave fields is sometimes forgotten and with the festival season upon us this is the pair that will hopefully take you through the next few months with pride.
My trusty Nike Air Max lights have been everywhere with me and still brush up clean as well as hold down the occasional washing machine spin with the stiff upper lip of an SAS commando so i am also glad that this edition of DJ Sneaks is displaying another pair of festival proven Nikes.
Stepping up with his veteran pair this time round we welcome Filthy Few boss man and one half of previously posted Caze Nove, Firas Waez. As well as his duo project alongside usual partner in crime Jay Karim, Firas has established himself as a serious player on the Dance music scene across the UK and beyond playing out regularly as well as hosting radio shows for NME, Snowbombing, Bestival radio and more with his latest mix below being put together for his new show every Thursday from 4-6pm on House FM.
The Kicks.
Firas is rocking his festival faithful Nike Dunk highs in white canvas with a tasty blue trim. White may not be the first choice of a rural action sneak but with the canvas model being pretty rugged as well as handling a good scrubbing these have most certainly done him well. We touched on the history of the Nike Dunk with DJ Sneaks #5 from Franky Redente so not going to go to much into it again, but the Basketball designed high ankles will definitely provide good support in muddy terrain.
We asked Firas why he chose these as his Sneaks mix choice.
"I've decided to go with these as they have done me proud over the last year. Broken in at Glastonbury, muddied at Bestival and trounced around London. They're nearing retirement age and for that reason, I put them on display today."

The Mix
Just listened through the mix and it is definitely going straight pon di mp3 player, smooth clean house bombs throughout. No track listing just to keep you guessing but i will definitely be mailing him for a few hints on some.
