Mixes, Music and Trouble Vision

Been a few days without any posts, so apologise for the lack of tantalising content.

Thought we’d return to form with a selection of mixes, new tracks and a tasty free download that we are really feeling this week as well as a little bit about this weekend’s edition of Trouble Vision which is looking to be as epic as ever.

First up is the new Jamie XX ep "Far Nearer" on Numbers. I am getting a little obsessed with the a side title track, a beautiful number which entertains my love of steel drum samples and clever vocal twisting something proper. Not sure that this is one for our usual sets but it will be in my top 10 listenables for a very long time.

Check it on the YouTube player below and pick up a copy over at the Numbers web site here with limited 12” also available.

Our next treat is provided by the lovely people over at Jackmode with their new Label imprint Jackmode Records. Nat Self of Zombie Disco Squad lays down the first release with "Dinner Party On The Moon Ep" cooking up some real house in the way he does oh so well.

One of our favourite DJs and all round lovely persons Rachel Barton has stepped up on the remix duties for the track "Mr Monkey" which Jackmode have decided to give away for nowt! Definitely worth a trip over to the Jackmode blog here and make sure you get a full listen to the EP on the Soundcloud player below which also includes a download tab for the free track.

This weeks mixy wixys.

Completely obsessed with this Lee Foss mix put together as podcast number 09 in the Louche podcast series.

The mix is a little old but still sounding fresh as hell. A perfect seletion of chilled step to house music here with this mix reminding me how much i love Lee Foss as a producer and selector. Catch us supporting him this Saturday in London at June's edition of Trouble Vision at Corsica Studios, but more about that in a moment. Head on over to the Louche podcast page and check out some of the other podcasts available all equally boom with past mixes from current favourites including Maya Jane Cole and Iron Curtis.

Second mix today comes from one of the nicest guys in dance music Marek De Angels who has recently been smashing the attention bag with his new Alias as DJ Birdee.

This mix has been put together by DJ Birdee for our friends over at Playdoh blog and will definitely get your energy juices going. It features plenty of Birdee’s own fresh material as well as shed load more bouncing party numbers and as ever from DJ Birdee, some seriously tight mixing .

One for the Weekend.

TROUBLE VISION returns this Saturday at our favourite place to be Corsica Studios. Joining us alongside the other TV family residents this month include Disco house player of the year Tensnake, Lee Foss, Space Dimension Controller, T. Williams, Dark Sky and The Pusher Man. Looking to be as special as ever with this line up bringing the sound of the summer 2011 in my opinion. Definitely going to be a night to get you in the mood for the next few months of festival onslaught. Flyer with full deets below and check out the face book event here.
