BoaBoa - April 2013 mix

Another weekend done and we have the battle wounds to prove it was good. Big shouts to Ruben and Will and the whole Resident Cohhons crew for their sterling effort of a party down at Canavans in Peckham on Friday. We were treated to an epic 3 hours of finely laid out musicals from Trouble Vision residents Mr Solid Gold and Park Ranger. One hell of a fun evening was had by all and we look forward to the next!

Carrying on with a lean towards the residents and warm up soldiers of London town today. As a city with more than enough parties, "deep house" hitting more ears than it has in a long time and every other dude and his cousin being a DJ sometimes the real soldiers, the record collectors, the people who have been doing this for more than time can easily be forgotten.

The true art of the Dj and the years of soldiering and learning the art of the selector can be as, if not more than important than anything else. It definitely shows when a DJ has spent many an hour learning the art of cranking out more than just the big jams. We're definitely noticing these type of DJs starting to get a little more of their well deserved attention recently. With quality nights like Rhythm Section and Resident Cochons leading the way it's a real positive thing to see.

BoaBoa an old friend of ours and long time master of down right quality splicings has just sent over his latest concoction. BoaBoa aka David Boa is definitely a connoisseur of tune selection, impeccable mixing skills and is a man that has a serious passion for what he does. A long time learning just how it should be done certainly shows on this one.

A smooth selection of house throughout on this April effort from Boa. Featuring DJ Koze, James Welsh, Ripperton and a whole host of other fresh sounding rollers. This one will ease your ears into the new week perfectly. Get it on the player below and check for more details of where you can find BoaBoa hiding out over on his Soundcloud page here

Happy Monday and catch you later in the week.
