DJ Sneaks #18 Two Charming Men

Another fresh DJ Sneaks mix and pic today sent through from our Irish friends Two Charming Men.
The boys are busy as ever working hard in the studio with remixes upcoming on Top Billin for Lorcan Mak and MiSK as well as a number of originals now available on their Soundcloud here.

As well as the production tip the guys aka Niall D'arcy and Conor Conroy have also been assisting Irish dance music heart throb (thought I'd slip that in) Lorcan Mak on the build up to his label launch for Stay Hungry Records, keep an eye out for stuff dropping on SHR soon.

The Kicks.

Superb pair of retro re release Nike Air Pegasus 89s which i believe belong to Niall. The Pegasus first made popular in the early 90s has seen a big resurrection recently with the retros dropping in a number of new colour ways and it's similarity in style and popularity to the Air Max 90 meaning there's likely to be more colours to come.

The Mix.

Packed with a lot of jack this one as well as featuring one of their own original tracks "I want" currently doing the rounds with love from NT89 and more. crack it on loud as a pre weekend warm up.18 large house tracks of the moment taking you through to an even bigger ending Two Charming Men: DJ Sneaks Mix // November 2011 by Two Charming Men

DJ Sneaks #13 Kiwi - "The Summer Mix"

Going in hard with the DJ Sneaks mixes over the next few days as our couple of weeks off have meant a back log of superb mixes and delightful kicks pics have been piling up. We have something a little different to the usual house tip coming soon from singer/producer Tony Volker as well as a fresh take on the mix tapes of our yout from Artist and Graphics man HeyGus. But today a summer mixtual treat from DJ, Producer and all round club man Kiwi.

Kiwi (from New Cross and not New Zealand he states) has put together a smooth selection of "Honey infused vocals and shlomo grooves" which has been sound tracking my morning in the office rather nicely.

Kiwi aka Alex Warren is no new comer to the DJ walk of life with most of his time spent running his ongoing club night Orlando Boom as well as heading up bookings at one of our favorite Dalston rave pits The Nest. His recent bootleg rework alongside Joe & Will Ask? of Moloko "The time is now" has also been one of our choice grooves of the past few months. Get yourself over to his Soundcloud here for a listen.

Kiwi's Kicks-

A limited edition release of the Nike Air Max Structure Triax 91s here. Not too clued up myself on the Triax editions but am liking the colour way and it could even be the first low air max to temp me away from my love of the 90s and classic Air Max 1s. The pic he's sent over is pretty smooth as well..

Kiwi's Mix -

As I've already mentioned above, Kiwi describes this mix better than i ever could so i'll leave you with his words and let you ears do the er..........listening.

Kiwi kicks off a new residency at new party "Kate Boss" launching at the Nest on the 2nd September. scoot over to here for full deets.

DJ-Kicks from MCDE out now.

Nothing on the free download front today or related to actual kicks or our DJ Sneaks mix series, just a recommendation to go out and buy something well worth your hard earned cash. Every now and again a mix CD is released that is really worth your dollar and The DJ Kicks series from K7 seems to nail this purchase piece every time.

The latest in the series coming from Stuttgart's Danilo Plessow AKA Motor City Drum Ensemble, and as this mix shows Danilo is one hell of a quality DJ and producer. We had had the pleasure of meeting him and checking out his set at Trouble Vision a few months back and we can also say he is one hell of a nice guy.

His DJ kicks brings together a collection of his standardly quality house selections as well as keeping things in with the "classic DJ Kicks" mix style seamlessly incorporating elements of Jazz, reggae and afrobeat. Popped this mix on the player for the first time a few days ago and i can't take it off. One of the most refreshing mixes I've heard in a while. Pick up your copy from the web site here as well as in all good record shops and download stores.

We've posted a couple of the opening choice gems and MCDE's own track L.O.V.E. from YouTube below and the mix track listing below that to entice you even more. There is also a DJ Kicks Ep as part of the release featuring two of MCDEs own productions from the mix available on digital release now and forth coming on 12" (Also on K7 Records). Have a listen and go buy them if you have a few spare pennies.

Also, for the Loveboxing crew, catch him this Saturday in the NYC Downlow stage.
